A Yurt is a tent that is used by nomads in Mongolia and is an ideal way to camp with the whole family.
It is the perfect way to go camping in the Finnish forests and feel close to nature, and you will still have all the comfort you want.
With your family or group of friends you hike from Kuru towards Ruovesi passing Helvetinjärvi National Park. On the way you sleep in a yurt
which is pitched up at the most beautiful spot in the area where you have your private lake and sauna.
There is no need to carry lots of weight because all your food and luggage is transported to your camping place. You have all the time to enjoy
the rest and nature on your hiking trip along Pirkan Taival, the European long distance trail. The day trips are around 20 km a day.

Starting days: every day, when you start on Tuesday you have no bus back on Saturday to Tampere in the afternoon so you have to book an extra night in Ruovesi.

Day 1: Kuru - Riuttaskorpi
The tour starts in Kuru where you walk towards the Riuttaskorpi recreation forest. You will have your lunch break on a bridge over the river Keihäsjoki and head along the river towards Haukijärvi or ‘pike lake’ where you have your own private sauna. You will spend your first night in the yurt.
Day 2: Riuttaskorpi
You can have a walk around the lake Haukijärvi where you can find traces of beavers and visit a watchtower that gives you a good view on the surrounding area. it is also possible to go horseriding nearby or use the rowing boat to go fishing and with some luck you will catch a pike and prepare it in the evening.
Day 3: Riuttaskorpi - Helvetinjärvi
Today you walk towards Helvetinjärvi National Park, where your yurt awaits you next to the beautiful Haukanhieta sand beach.
Day 4: Helvetinjärvi
You can choose to have a relaxing day fishing on the beach or have a walk in Helvetinjärvi National Park to Helvetinkolu, a gorge that leads towards the lake and the main attraction in the park.The walk takes you to a mix of lakes, swamps and old grown forests and offers lots of ideal resting spots.
Day 5: Helvetinjärvi - Ruovesi
You hike towards Ruovesi by the peaceful southern part of the national park where you can see how snow and wind effect the ecosystem. Soon you will leave the national park and the forest and find yourself in the countryside with beautiful wooden farms.
